The Colorado legislature recently passed a bill that requiring online retailers either to start collecting sales taxes or provide a summary of customers’ web purchases in the state to ensure that residents remit the proper use tax on these transactions. Other states are starting to see this as model legislation—while some members of the online community are mounting a legal challenge.
